| Aesthetics can be thought of as the theory of "beauty." But regarding design, what exactly is beautiful? Is it the thin stroke of a serif, or the slight curves of the letters themselves? The color scheme of a fashion spread from the seventies or the juxtaposition of its contents? The process or the outcome? These answers may be subjective, but what I know is that graphic designers are given the opportunity to provide solutions to visual problems in a beautiful way. I believe that the art of graphic design is however much more than visual elements in print or on the web. It teaches us a way to think about everyday things in a different light. It allows me to analyze every aspect of a situation and provide the best solution possible. In my design process and outcome I strive to listen to the needs of my clients and conjure up designs that reflect those needs. My name is Stephanie Whitney and I simply like good design. |
